Meet the Team

Mitch Hartford

Founder

 From the age of ten when I started pounding nails with my dad, I have been increasingly more interested in how to build things and how it all works together. With my dad’s encouragement I went into the trades. I became a Master Electrician in 4 states and ran my own electrical contracting business for 12 years, employing up to 11 electricians at its peak.
As I spent time building for other people, I realized that what I really wanted was to own the properties instead and this is where my real estate career kicked off. My journey began with an owner-occupied tri-plex. With the mortgage & expenses covered, free rent, and $500 per month in my pocket, I caught the investment bug! Finding my niche of buying run down properties and updating them, my wife and I have bought, updated and self-managed many properties ranging from multi-plexes to single family homes, condos and a commercial garage.
As our portfolio was growing, I started looking around for a good property management company. To my surprise, I received a lot of feedback that there wasn’t a good one around here. I did try one out anyway and quickly found they were right. I wasn’t receiving the service that I knew was possible, as I had been doing it myself for so long. There was a need and I knew I could fill it. And with that, Hartford Property Management was born!

Jenn Hartford

From an early age, I developed a strong affinity for organization, whether it was creating to-do lists, alphabetizing, or establishing systems and processes to simplify tasks. At 16, I created my first budget, and the sense of accomplishment I felt when I saved up enough money for Christmas has stayed with me ever since! That early experience sparked a lifelong passion for budgeting, organization, and day to day management.
Knowing my career path, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and spent years excelling in project management, consistently delivering projects on time and often under budget. These skills have carried over into my work in property management, where I specialize in operations, ensuring that properties are profitable and running smoothly.
For the past 15 years, I’ve been actively involved in all aspects of buying, selling, and managing rental properties. I oversee various key aspects of operations at Hartford Property Management, including budgeting, forecasting, rent collection, accounts payable/receivable, and tenant sourcing. One achievement I’m especially proud of is that, to date, none of the tenants I’ve placed have ever required eviction.  I’m excited to work closely with each new and existing client and look forward to continued collaboration and success together.

Lyza Shanice Cruz

With a strong foundation in real estate and a passion for empowering others, I’m proud to be part of the Hartford Property Management team as a Real Estate Executive Assistant. My career began as a Trainer, helping individuals not only master processes but also unlock their true potential. That experience taught me the value of clear communication, efficiency, and teamwork—skills I now bring into every interaction with our clients.Before joining Hartford Property Management, I also held roles as an Underwriter and Leasing Administrator, giving me hands-on experience with the operational and compliance side of real estate. Over the years, I’ve worked with start-up real estate businesses to streamline their processes, build solid administrative systems, and set them up for long-term success.At Hartford Property Management, I’m committed to aligning with both company and client goals—supporting the team behind the scenes while building strong, professional relationships with those we serve.
